The hotel’s location is perfect for tourists who want to venture out. This ideally located hotel is minutes from the Marina Bay area and close to Raffles and downtown. It is an excellent location if you are heading to Singapore for the Grand Prix or a stopover to explore the little red dot.
PARKROYAL on Beach Road Singapore
Firstly, I know this hotel previously, and maybe even now, is aiming for this to be a suitable business hotel; however, it had more of a family fun vibe. This is not to say that the rooms (which I will go into more detail about shortly) have a very business, clean-cut, straight-down-the-line business feel. However, I got a different sense from the rest of the hotel; I felt like I had landed in the tropics and knew my kids would love it here.
THE PARKROYAL on Beach Road Review
When you enter the lobby, you feel like you have entered a Tropical Island holiday. With an abundance of scattered plants and a jungle-like interior, this hotel screams relax and enjoy from the moment you arrive.
The Rooms At The Parkroyal On Beach Road
At the PARKROYAL on Beach Road, there are a few rooms to choose from, all with the same interior. Lush beds, a minimalistic interior, and all the modern cons, including no more bottled water than a filtered tap, allow you to enjoy as much drinkable water as you choose. The twin rooms have two super king single beds; you could easily fit two children in one bed; they are that big.
Rooms vary from Superior to PARKROYAL Club Premier Room, which allows lounge access for its members. The lounge privileges include daily light refreshments between 11 am and 8 pm and evening cocktails between 6 pm and 8 pm.
The PARKROYAL Club Premier Room deserves its mention. The 42 sqm bedroom has a gorgeous Singapore view from the balcony, a deep sunken bath, extremely comfortable king beds, and a little lounge area to relax after a big day of shopping and sightseeing in Singapore.
St Gregory Spa
The St. Gregory Spa is next to the Pool and gym. With current day spa packages available. When posting this article, they offered Jet Lag Relief (75 mins) for SGD190, which includes
- Anti-Stress Back Bliss Massage for 30mins
- Foot Massage | 30mins
- Scalp Massage | 15mins
The Gym
Right next door, you will find the gymnasium with all the equipment you need for a workout during your stay at the PARKROYAL on Beach Rd. Modern machines offer free weights and plenty of room to move around between sessions. It has to be one of the largest hotel gyms in Singapore.
The Pool
Who doesn’t check out the Pool when staying at a hotel in Singapore? Whether coming from abroad or staying with the family, the Pool is essential to your stay. I know other hotels in the area are so well known for their infinity pool that the rooms are a second thought when booking. The Pool area does not disappoint; from the skyline view and the Olympic-sized Pool, this area is one of my favourites, and I can’t forget the relaxed bar area to make it that little bit more special.
Club 5 Bar
Unwind after work or after dinner with its perfectly named bar, CLUB 5; it is the perfect place to be after work or for a nightcap before heading to your hotel room. Also, look out for their social hours (currently running between 5 pm to 12 am daily. Speaking from experience, the cocktails are delicious, and if you close your eyes while drinking the mocktails, you can smell, taste and feel the little red dot yourself; in other words, if I could bottle Singapore, then Club 5 nailed it!
Restaurants At The Parkroyal Beach Rd
Si Chuan Dou Hua
If hot and spicy is your thing and Sichuan cuisine makes all your senses tingle, head over to the Si Chuan Dou Hua. Before your delicious meal of Chinese delights, enjoy a drink in the tea room for that authentic Chinese experience. I love this restaurant’s traditional feel; it is very different from the rest of the hotel but took me back to my time in China. It is worth trying this restaurant if only for the ambience alone; a big thumbs up from me here. Currently, happy hour runs daily from 630pm to 730pm.
Ginger
Okay, I usually don’t get wowed by a buffet-style restaurant, but I loved everything about this dining area and will return soon. It has been a long time since I could eat at a buffet-style restaurant. Still, in saying that, I was excited as soon as I stepped into the area, from the gorgeous Tahitian-style fans to the tastefully decorated island interior; this place had me at “hello”, and I hadn’t even tried the food yet! The food (especially the Sashimi, where I returned for a second serving) was everything I remember about living in Tokyo. I highly recommend eating here, especially with a family (like mine) who all like different cuisines.

With only a few minutes walk to quirky Kampong Glam, there are many things to do in this area. From great Middle Eastern-style restaurants to quirky boutiques, Kampong Glam has a massive amount of history attached to the site. I recommend a guided tour if you plan a walking tour of the area. But, if riding in a rickshaw is more up your alley, then you can not go past Trishaw Uncle as a fun way to see the area with a little bit of history attached to it.
