ArtScience museum

Before heading to Marina Bay, check out the exhibitions at The ArtScience Museum, as there are few to choose from. Each exhibition has an entry fee, and it is more cost-effective to purchase the exhibitions together in one day (they do sell out fast, so book ahead of time).

This museum has excellent little workshops for children to explore. You could spend your day wandering around the exhibitions or split it up by entertaining the kids at the Marina Bay Sands.

Battlebox

What better way to discover Singapore’s history than to visit the war tunnels at Fort Canning? Spend the day exploring the little pockets of history around the park, then head deep into the tunnels on a self-guided tour. Book your ticket to Battlebox before you get there to save the wait. Follow Singapore’s journey from discovery to surrender with a self-guided tour.

For lunch, there are many options, including The Salon at Hotel Fort Canning, which was once the former British Far East Command Headquarters during World War II.

  • Address: Fort Canning
  • Opening Hours: 1030am and 4 pm, Friday to Sunday.

The Former Ford Museum

If you have ventured to Battle Box and explored the tunnels, then The old Ford Museum is your next stop. The story continues here as the British surrender to the Japanese. Ensure you download the app before you go, as the app will not only guide you along with the museum but also ensure your experience is that little bit extra with the 4D experience.

Book a time slot at the former Ford Museum here before you go. Remember that you can only book up to two days before, and time slots do go fast, so be ready.

  • Address:351 Upper Bukit Timah Rd, Singapore 588192
  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Singapore Sports Museum

Singapore Sports Museum provides insight into a professional athlete’s training regime and highlights Singapore’s history. It also includes temporary exhibits, so you should check before you go. At the time of writing this article, “Beginning of a Golden Age of Sport in Singapore (Late 1940s – 1950s)” was the temporary exhibition.

The museum’s Children’s Activity Corner offers some great crafts for kids. Outside the museum, there is plenty to do, from access to a Skate park to playing on a Giant Chessboard.

  • Address: 6 Stadium Walk, Singapore 397698

Trick Eye Museum

I love a trick-eye museum and have been to quite a few over the years, so this one is no different. It will have the kids entertained for hours. If you haven’t been to a 3D museum before, you are in for a treat.

Tickets to the Trick Eye Museum in Sentosa can be bought singularly or as a package. There are a few different packages to combine with other activities on your day out in Sentosa.

  • Address: 80 Siloso Road, Southside, Blk B, #01-04, 098969
