Singapore Hotels And Places To Stay
Singapore offers many hotel options, from luxurious 5-star accommodations to budget-friendly hostels. Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, finding the perfect place to stay is essential for an unforgettable trip.
In this guide, we’ll explore some excellent hotels in Singapore, highlighting their distinctive features, locations, and some recommendations. From the bustling streets of Orchard Road to the scenic waterfront views of Marina Bay, Singapore’s hotels are as diverse as the city.
What if I were to tell you that Singapore has more to offer than the Shangri-la?
Info Box
Visa—If you are looking for an easy way to get a visa or if you aren’t sure if you really need one in the first place, Ivisa makes the process easy. With a click of a button and a few simple steps, you will be able to sort out your visa requirements in a flash!
Insurance -We all know how important travel insurance is when you are abroad, but we also know how expensive it can be as well, right? Well, I am here to help solve both those problems. Safetywings is both affordable and reliable and better still easy to purchase. There are no hidden agendas, just choose the dates you will be away and check the coverage you need. It is that simple.
Car Hire– If you are planning to hire a car on your next trip, DiscoverCars is the perfect solution, why? Because you will find it in most countries around the world and all mandatory fees are included in the price, so there are no hidden surprises.
E-sim– If you want to know the most affordable way to be connected when travelling, it is with an e-sim. I have to admit I have come late to the party on this one, and I wish I had known earlier as it would have saved me hundreds of dollars in the past. I have been using Airalo for the past few months now and it has been so easy to set up and use while I am away.
Airline Tickets—CheapOair is a leading provider of airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, and vacation packages, with top travel brands to choose from globally. The CheapOair brand provides diversified travel services, but I highly recommend checking out their airline ticket options for the best prices.
Singapore Hotels
The Shipping Container Hotel
The Shipping Container Hotel is a unique concept and the first of its kind in Singapore. We have all secretly wanted to stay in a container at some point in our lives, haven’t we? Or that is just me and my constant drive for adventure!
Sure, there are no swimming pools or hotel lobbies, but other amenities are close by, such as the basketball and futsal courts next to container one and free balls inside the container to use. (There are no bookings, so it is best to be best dressed).
- Location– 262 Pasir Panjang Rd, 118628 Singapore, Singapore
- Things to know – They offer a gym pod. If you fancy a workout, you must upload the gym pod app before you arrive; that way, you can book your timeslot.
- Recommendation – Go out to eat in the neighbourhood and rediscover some old eateries of the yesteryears; however, if you fancy staying in for the evening, the containers all have a kitchenette so you can cook dinner yourself.
Wanderlust, The Unlimited Connection by Oakwood
This hotel is the newest addition to the Oakwood collection, so it offers some great deals. The building was built in the 1920s, so it greets you with old-world charm when you arrive. However, this hotel has an old meets new feel in a neighbourhood worth rediscovering, as there are plenty of things to see and do here.
- Location -No 2 Dickson Road, Little India, 209494
- Recommendation – The studio offers up to three guests, a second-story hideaway and a kitchenette, all for a great price in a neighbourhood ready to be explored.
Lyf Hotel
When going on vacation, we look for something different from everyday life. Forget mundane rooms; forget everything you may expect from some of the more well-known chains around Singapore. Instead, think fun, relaxed, and quirky—think co-living space! Yes, you heard correctly. Think about cooking, working out together, and even creating some great ideas—that is what Lyft Hotel is all about.
- Location – 67 Hill Street, City Hall, 179370 Singapore
- Recommendations: Funan is fun; plenty will entertain you for the entire weekend. Catch an alternative style play at Wild Rice or, until May 23, take part in the Funan Shopping Mall’s Green movement.
The Warehouse Hotel
You may wonder why I chose this hotel, as it isn’t quirky like the previous hotel I mentioned; however, it is a bit different. In an ideal location at Robinson Quay, this hotel has a lot of history and character. Choose from one of the fabulous rooms on offer; many have fantastic views of the river, and others, like the River View Mezzanine, are just excellent rooms with a second-level reading room. You will want to stay in the room all weekend!
- Location – 320 Havelock Rd, Singapore 169628
- Things to know: The Warehouse Hotel was built in 1895 and was part of the Straits of Malacca trade route. However, since it opened its doors in 2017, it has become known as a beautiful historic boutique hotel.
- Recommendation – Book a get-your-guide tour, explore this neighbourhood, and discover how far removed it is from its secret societies and red-light district past.
Raffles Marina
If you want a staycation that won’t break the bank but will offer a fun weekend, then Raffles Marina is the one to choose. The rooms are basic, clean, affordable, and have amazing views! In addition, there is plenty to keep you busy, with a swimming pool and jacuzzi to use, along with options for fishing and kayaking.
- Location – 10 Tuas West Drive, Jurong West, Singapore, 638404
- Things to know: The lighthouse is beautiful day and night, so it is worth a walk around the jetty. A deal includes a fishing permit, fishing bait, storage for your catch-up the day, and cooking of catch.
- Recommendations: Combine your weekend with a Tiger Brewery Tour! The brewery tour includes five beer samples per person, which you can enjoy in the brewery’s English-style pub. Although the brewery is only a 30-minute walk, I strongly suggest you catch a taxi there.
Champion Hotel City
Do not, I repeat, do not judge a book by its cover! This hotel is not much to look at from the outside; however, walk inside, and this quirky, affordable little boutique hotel has more charm than the outside allows.
There are few room options, which makes this hotel so cosy. All rooms have Wi-Fi, fridges, and a heap of character. You can not dispute the value for money here, as the rooms at the Champion Hotel City are so affordable that you can only beat the price if you are in a hostel) anywhere else in Singapore.
- Location 7 North Canal Road, Boat Quay, 059293 Singapore
- Things to know—There are double—and single-room options, so you can stay here as a couple or family. It is especially suited to those on a budget.
- Recommendation—Ideally located near many major tourist spots, this island city is worth exploring. Try one of the Go City cards and explore the neighbourhood.
Raffles Hotel
The Raffles Hotels ooze luxury and charm; honestly, I will never get sick of staying here (or recommending it to others). Raffles Hotel always offers great deals in a great location with decades of history. In addition, Raffles Hotel Singapore is known for the Sikh Doormen, a unique touch to a splendid hotel experience. Your experience will feel out of this world as soon as you enter these fantastic hotel premises.
- Location -1 Beach Road, City Hall, 189673 Singapore
- Things to know: Some restaurants at the hotel have dress codes, so check them out before you go. All rooms are suites, but each has its own worldly charm.
- Recommendation: You don’t need to leave the hotel premises, as there is enough to do to ensure that your weekend is eventful. Want more information?
Marina Bay Sands
Apart from Raffles Hotel, Marina Bay Sands is probably the most well-known hotel in Singapore. From its unique boat-like shape to its internationally recognised instagrammable infinity pool, Marina Bay Sands is a must on your bucket list of things to tick off this year in Singapore.
- Location 10 Bayfront Avenue, Marina Bay, 018956 Singapore
- Things to know: Marina Bay Sands has the world’s largest infinity pool, but it gets busy during the day.
- Recommendation: Book a table at Spago Dining Room for a treat. The menu is extensive, the service is welcoming, and the ambience has some old-world charm.
Changi Cove
Why not stay as far away from the city as possible? That is what getting away is all about. Changi Cove is the perfect location for enjoying the peace and exploring its surrounding nature. All rooms are clean and equipped with a coffee machine, and the hotel has ample parking. There are plenty of things to do in the area! Take a walk along the Changi Boardwalk or grab a bite to eat at Changi Village.
- Location 351 Cranwell Road, Changi, 509866 Singapore
- Things to know -All rooms allow you to write in them and have a little bit of fun with the family. There is also a pool and a restaurant, so you will only need to leave the hotel if you want to.
- Recommendation – Spend the day at Pulau Ubin, where you can walk to the ferry pier in approximately 30 minutes.
W Hotel Sentosa Cove
When you think of The W Hotel chain worldwide, you wouldn’t typically suggest it as a “family-friendly” recommendation. However, here in Singapore, there are copious amounts of children in and around this hotel all year round! Once you step into the doors of The W Hotel, you can see why! It is a kid magnet, for sure! With its bright, eccentric colours and wacky interior, this hotel is one of a kind!
- Location -21 Ocean Way, Sentosa Island, 098372 Singapore
- Things to know—Don’t let the droves of children fool you; this is also an excellent location for couples.
- Recommendation- If you still need to explore this part of Sentosa Island, now is your time. There are some great restaurants and a great place to explore on foot. Book a guided tour if exploring alone feels like something other than an actual holiday.

Amara Sanctuary
There are plenty of hotels and resorts in Singapore that I could add to this category. However, I wanted to add one slightly different from the rest. Spending time on Sentosa Island always feels like a holiday anyway, so why not add to it by spending time in a hotel that isn’t overrun with families? Amara Sanctuary is tucked away, far enough to believe you are on a resort holiday, far removed from Singapore.
- Location -1 Larkhill Road, Sentosa, Sentosa Island
- Things to know—There are some special deals at the time of writing. It is worth checking them out before you book. The two-room choices for a romantic getaway are the Courtyard suite with a jacuzzi and the couple suite with direct access to the pool. Both are gorgeous rooms, but it depends on what you prefer.
- Recommendation—If you want to spend the weekend just hanging around the hotel, well, it is possible to do that; however, if you are like me and want to explore, then this is a great time to discover this part of Sentosa and its surroundings down at Palawan beach.
